Please Be Happy

Made in 2022, Please Be Happy is a lesbian visual novel. Players have the option to pursue one of two girls represented by Miho, a human girl fox.

One of the girls players can pursue is Aspen. She is a writer and human who is a barista at the game’s local café, Bellhouse Café.

The other is Juliet, a vampire. She owns a library and is one of the eldest residents in the town of Wellington, New Zealand.

Throughout the game, choices matter. What the player picks depends on who Miho will end up with towards the end of the game. The visual novel has two routes, one for each girl. Neither route has a bad ending. It gives the player successful outcomes regardless of the girl they chose.

Caprice Shiften is one of Olive’s romantic interests, and is determined to not let them fail. She is the leader of the art club, and aids Olive in their endeavor of passing. Caprice is optimistic and enthusiastic, but understands when a situation calls for a more mature approach.

Millie Clarke is also one of Olive’s romantic interests, intent on not letting them fail. She is the leader of the writing club and does not want Olive to fail for seemingly underlying reasons. When Millie became leader of the writing club, that was followed by several members leaving. Thanks to her prideful nature, the club still persists, with a helping hand of course.

Heart of the Woods

Made in 2019, Heart of the Woods is a lesbian visual novel. It follows the investigations of paranormal vloggers Maddie Raines and Tara Bryck. In the game, other characters such as Abigail Dalsing and Morgan Fischer have potential to fall in love with the girls. The game has multiple endings, good and bad.

Maddie Raines is the manager and video editor to her best friend Tara Bryck. Tara runs a paranormal vlog channel and takes one last trip to Eysenfeld with Maddie.

Upon their arrival, they finally face a real supernatural crisis. Morgan Fischer, who watches Tara’s vlogs and is a resident of the town aids the two women in finding the paranormal phenomena.

Part of this phenomenon is Abigail Dalsing, a resident ghost in Eysenfeld for 200 years. She is bound to the forest, and inevitably, her loneliness.

Romance visual novels allow players to have the choice to pursue different people, or create contrasting game endings. When players are done, they can replay to enjoy the different options never seen before.
